Feb 1st! Happy month of love (and skirts -if you're joining me in this 29 day challenge!!)
More fun in the print room... tonight we worked with reductive methods while still making monotypes... I will be posting them once the ink drys.
For tonight, I have the second (first) print from the texture monotype works we created in our second class. The image of a "sun dress" was created by first painting a sun directly on the plate, then cutting mesh to the shape of a simple shift and then inking it off plate, placing it and then adding a length of tangled thread. Notice how the threads masked the ink from the mesh, creating a negative or white tangle through the center of the dress. The fibres also left some remnant green ink from previous use. I particularly love the random and surprise effects we are getting with these methods.
